Welcome

Welcome to the 3rd issue of our newsletter! We have lots to mention. So let’s crack on!

CavyRescue in the News

Although we haven't threatened to sue anyone in the last two weeks we have had lots of press interest in what we are doing. We have been asked to appear on Blue Peter (how sad is it if one of our rats gets a Blue Peter badge before us!) We have also been approached by the Imperial War Museum to help with a Hunt the Rat day at HMS Belfast over Easter Weekend. (They are planning to hunt plastic rats not real ones!)
We were also interviewed for a university student’s degree course in Anthropology - which was different! Hopefully this will not work its way on the web!

We are also featured in the new issue of Paws 4 Rescue. If you do not get or even know about Paws4Rescue, it is a great magazine dedicated to all things animal rescue. They have a website here: http://www.paws4rescue.com

New Site Features

Hopefully all you ratty owners out there have entered our Ratless Rat Show. Voting starts on 4th April, so do get your entries in now so that they can be added to the site. There will be no more entries after this date. Don't forget, we will also be crowning our "Rescue Rat of the Year" who will win a luxury new cage worth £80 courtesy of Savic and Pets At Home!

Plus, for we have prizes galore for the other lucky winners such as rat goodie bag, designer hammocks and giant play balls! Click here for more info: http://www.cavyrescue.co.uk

Dreamworks with Aardman Animations are currently in production on the animated family comedy film. Thestory of an uptown rat that gets flushed down the toilet from his penthouse apartment, ending in the sewers of London, where he has to learn a whole new and different way of life.

Roddy is a upper-crust "society rat" who makes his home in a posh Kensington flat, complete with two hamster butlers named Gilbert and Sullivan. When a common sewer rat named Syd comes spewing out of the
sink and decides he's hit the jackpot, Roddy schemes to rid himself by luring him into the "whirlpool."

Syd may be an unaware scalywag, but he's no fool. So it is Roddy who winds up being flushed away into the bustling sewer world of Ratropolis. There Roddy meets Rita, an enterprising scavenger who works the sewers in her faithful boat, the Jammy Dodger. Roddy immediately wants out, or rather, up; Rita wants to be paid for her trouble; and, speaking of trouble, the villainous Toad-who royally despises all rodents-wants them iced.
literally. The Toad dispatches his two hapless hench-rats, Spike and Whitey, to get the job done. When they fail, the Toad has no choice but to send to France for his cousin-that dreaded mercenary, Le Frog.

Release date for the movie is November 3, 2006.
