3 Rat Boys need fostering
Cheeky, Shy and Bashful are 3 gorgeous hoodies
looking for a foster home in Kent. They are a little nervous
when being handled but will come round with lots of TLC and
patience. They are all on medication for Respiratory Disease
which will be provided. Please email Stella for more details

We had a huge amount of coverage this week in
response to the launch of the Ratless Rat Show on World Rat
Day (4th April 2006). I carried out Radio Interviews
with Paul Coyte at Capital Gold on Monday, and then BBC Radio
Scotland and BBC Radio Wales on Tuesday.
You can hear the Radio Scotland and Wales coverage
if you visit the BBC Radio Website:

Radio Scotland (MacAuley & Co)
BBC
Radio Wales (Good Evening Wales)
Stella was also interviewed for BBC Online and
you can see that interview here:

So lots of good coverage for Ratties!
New Site Features

entered our Ratless Rat Show. Voting started on the 4th and
so far we have had over 350 votes. Keep 'em coming as the more
we have the better.
Visit http://www.cavyrescue.co.uk/ratless-rat-show-voting.shtml

more than one rattie but only once per rat please!
We are also now starting to get a good number
of Recommended Rat Vets. If you have a good rodent vet or need

New Lists!
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
We are starting 2 new lists for Rattie lovers!
Firstly a Rat Club list, so if you have a good Rat Club near
and you want us to link to it them drop me an email to the address
at the foot of this page.
Secondly, we are looking to build a small animal
hotel list. So if you know anyone who boards small furries (Guinea
Pigs, Rabbits, Mice and Rats) then let us have their details
and we will add these features too!
Hopefully this will be enough to keep me busy
for a while!
Donate a bag of food or bedding to the rescue
People can now donate a bag of Rat Food or Rat Bedding to
the Rescue using Ebay. Check out our homepage
for more details.
Small Pet Insurance
We all know how expensive vets’ bills can be
for our ‘small furries’. Just because they are smaller than
a cat or dog, it does not mean that the vets’ bills reflect
this!
Vets’ bills continue to rise and treatment is becoming more
and more expensive – it is a very real concern to owners of
all pets, large or small.
For example – to x-ray a rat or guinea pig can cost anything
up to £80 – and that is without the consultation fee or
any treatment needed.
Medications for an average rat with respiratory disease will
cost around £330 every year.
And removal of a lump and all its associated costs can go well
into hundreds of pounds.
With Vet Fee Insurance for small mammals, you can have the
peace of mind that that in the unfortunate event that he or
she needs it, costs associated with your rat, rabbit, ferret
or other small mammals’ health and welfare will be covered.
Insurance - that may cost from as little as 22p a day – means
you don’t have to worry anymore about setting aside money for
those inevitable vets’ bills.
