Desperately seeking rat loving eccentric millionaire!
CavyRescue - the UK's first dedicated rodent rescue - are
desperately seeking an affluent rodent lover to help them attain
the Charity's goal of constructing a small animal hospital and
rescue centre.
The Kent-based charity - which has rescued, rehabiltated and
rehomed over 2,600 'small furries' since its formation in 1999
- has now run out of space and resources. It has desperately
been fund-raising to get the money needed to build new premises
- and a solvent rat loving sponsor seems to be the only solution!
Stella Hulott, co-founder of CavyRescue, says: "Fund-raising
for a small animal charity is difficult as sadly, 95% of the
general public see small animals as disposable and do not the
see the value of rescuing and rehoming. And for rescues - who
are permanently short of space for these furries - we will soon
be unable to help all these animals as the problem grows.
"As more and more homes are being built in the Kent area,
the number of unwanted and abandoned small pets will only increase.
By building a dedicated rescue centre with an on-site small
animal hospital we hope to be able to meet the current need
and also grow in the future."
Stella adds: "To generate enough funds through current
public donations would take us over fifty years! There are 1.96
million rodent owning households in the UK*. If each household
gave just 50p to the charity, it would raise the funds needed.
However, as that is unlikely to happen, the best we can hope
for is a rodent loving millionaire to help us out!"

About CavyRescue:
CavyRescue (registered charity number 1111583) was set up in
1999 by husband and wife team Jason and Stella Hulott. They
have rescued, rehabilitated and rehomed over 2,600 small furries
(guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, gerbils), now specialising
in rats. Their aim is to educate individuals and organisations
on small animal healthcare and welfare and we regularly run
successful campaigns to this effect.
